Terms of Service
3D Printing Labs is a small, independent print shop. These terms explain how quotes, payment, and orders work so we're both on the same page before anything gets printed. Placing an order means you're okay with what's below.
Quotes
Quotes are in Canadian dollars and good for 30 days. If anything about the job changes — quantity, material, size, colour, or the deadline — we'll send you an updated quote before carrying on.
We'll always give you a timeline estimate with your quote. We take it seriously, but printing occasionally goes sideways (a failed print, a filament order that doesn't show up). If something slips, we'll tell you as soon as we know.
Paying for your order
Once you accept a quote, we ask for 50% upfront before we start. That covers the filament and setup time, which we can't get back once a print is underway.
If you change your mind before we start printing, just let us know and we'll refund the deposit. Once printing has begun, the deposit isn't refundable — your part is already being made.
The other 50% is due before your order ships or gets picked up.
Your files
Please only send us models you made yourself or have permission to print. We're taking your word for it, and we're not able to check licensing on your behalf.
We use your files for one thing: making your part. We won't sell them, share them, or print them for anyone else.
We keep quote files for about 30 days and order files for about 60 days in case you want a reprint, then delete them. If you'd like yours deleted sooner, just ask.
What a 3D print is (and isn't)
FDM printing builds parts one layer at a time, so expect faint layer lines, small differences from the exact dimensions in your file, and slight colour variation between filament spools. That's normal, not a defect.
We're happy to recommend a material, but the final call is yours. Our prints aren't tested or certified for food contact, medical use, or anything where a part failing could hurt someone or damage property — please don't use them that way.
If you ask for sanding or painting, keep in mind that finishing usually can't reach the inside surfaces of a part.
If something's wrong with your print
Email us within 10 business days of getting your order and we'll make it right — usually by reprinting it at no cost. Send a photo so we can see what happened. If we need the part back, we'll ask you to mail it within about 3 business days.
After that window we can't offer a reprint. Since everything we make is custom to your order, we don't take general returns or exchanges for change of mind.
Shipping and pickup
We pack orders carefully, but once a package is with the courier it's out of our hands. If it arrives damaged, get in touch — we'll help you sort it out with the carrier, though we can't guarantee a replacement for shipping damage.
Photos and site content
The photos, text, and design on this site are ours. Feel free to share a link, but please ask before reusing our images or copy elsewhere.
We sometimes post photos of finished work in our gallery. If you'd rather we didn't share yours, just say so when you order and we'll keep it private.
Where we draw the line
We're a small shop, so there's a limit to what we can take on. If something goes wrong with an order, what we can offer is a reprint or a refund of what you paid for it. We can't cover knock-on costs beyond that — missed deadlines, lost sales, or anything the part was meant to be used for.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page as the shop grows. Whatever is posted here when you place your order is what applies to that order.
